"In retail management, which is the ability to understand an end user's continuously changing demand correctly, and then make a proposal that will meet that demand in the fastest manner, operational efficiency and building a correct work plan and strategy, along with delivering the correct product in the right amount, at the right price, at the right time, and in the correct location, becomes more important each day. They become a must for professionals in the ecosystem of the retail industry. Building this skill set is the fundamental objective of İMA's "Fashion Merchandising Program".

In Turkey, fashion retail companies demand well-equipped managers who are capable of understanding global competition, and responding rapidly to changing consumer behaviors to enhance their productivity. 
Focusing on international developments and current practices, this program aims to teach participants the key parts of the "Merchandising, Buying and Product Management" topics, which are some of the fundamental issues of retail management. At the end of the program, you will have comprehensive knowledge on the latest practices and trends in the Turkish fashion retail industry, and become familiar with the global vision and current information that you can use in your professional life.

It is possible to work in retail industry fashion and textile companies in the following positions:

  • Merchandiser,
  • Product Manager,
  • Category Manager,
  • Collection Planning Manager,
  • Brand Manager.

Applicants will attend an interview for admission. Applicants need to have at least six months experience in product management. 

PROGRAM CONTENT

Fashion Retail: Addresses the general structure of the fashion retail industry, developments in the industry, and procurement processes using up-to-date examples. This module aims to support managerial candidates in examining the current industry conditions, and gaining knowledge about the details of the procurement process.

Planning and Product Supply: Addresses the topics of business model selection, accessories and product buying, online buying, and consumer analysis in accordance with companies' roles and objectives in the industry. Examines the studies that are conducted by companies to create a correct product mix and enhance their productivity with the help of analysis and correct planning.

Product Management: Discusses merchandising processes in fashion retail which consist of product planning, the fundamentals of retail math, retail management and inventory management, retail conditions in international markets, and visual product management. This module complements all of the related topics in the merchandising field, and examines them theoretically and practically.
