Within the framework of Istanbul 2010 European Culture Center Project, Italian Commerce Center continues to contribute to architectural restoration and urban lighting works by lighting project of Sadrazam Sait Paşa Konağı, housing Istanbul ModaAcademy (İMA) in Nişantaşı.
Istanbul Apparel and Ready Wear Exporters Union (İHKİB) Chairperson Hikmet Tanrıverdi pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony that Sadrazam Sait Paşa Konağı, one of the prominent architectural values of Nişantaşı, has assumed an esthetic appearance with the contributions of Italian Commerce Center.
Italian Commerce Center Director Roberto Luongo stated that their biggest goal is to bring out the beauty of the city’s outstanding architectural values by the use of Italian technology in urban lighting and restoration. Explaining that they start by analyzing the characteristics of the building to be emphasized Luongo said, “We select the project to suit the texture of the city and we apply it in the best way possible. We started with Dolmabahçe Clock Tower, and now we are proud to work on İMA building. We want to contribute to the restoration works in İstanbul, in preparation for the ‘2010 European Culture Capital’ title. Luongo also underlined the significance of technologic and economic collaboration between Italy and Turkey, stating that this collaboration will surely continue to grow in the field of architectural restoration and urban lighting.
