“İzler” The reinterpretation of the Turkish hand crafts aims to introduce the forgotten craftsmanship to the new generation and encourage them to use it.
The İMA students researched the Anatolian hand crafts for “İZLER”
5 Students are selected from İMA the Fashion Design and Technology Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Fashion Design and Management programmes within the scope of Turkish hand craffts projects. The students researched the Anatolian hand crafts and after an instense period of 2 months they have produced 15 presentations by using needle lace (İğne Oyasi), thread wrapping (Tel Sarma), thread cutting (Tel Kırma), inlaying mother of pearl (Sedef Kakma) crafting. Each student has 3 designs of presentation and they used the couture technique during the whole process and preapared them by hand seawing.
The collection that was prepared by the İMA students in cooperation with Dice Kayek for the purpose of revitalization of traditional Turkish hand crafts can be seen until the end of July.
