Young Fashion Entrepreneur of the year Competition by Collaboration of İMA and the British Council

Can Soylu, awarded the title of the Young Creative Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year, will represent Turkey in the international competition to be held in London, following a tour of the sector, all expenses covered by the British Council, where he will have the opportunity to meet in person with prominent names of the British Fashion and Design World.  

Jury of the second Young Creative Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year Contest organized in collaboration with Istanbul Moda Academy (İMA) included A&Y Marka Mağazıcılık General Manager Eren Çamurdan, Fashion Designer Gamze Saraçoğlu, British Gentlewoman Magazine Editor Penny Martin, İMA Director Seda Lafçı and Centre for Fashion Enterprise (Fashion Design Incubation Centre) Director Wendy Malem. The winner of the contest was founder of Lastik Pabuç, Can Soylu. The young entrepreneur, offering his clients unique sneaker models attracted huge attention with the video shot he used in promoting his original products, reflecting sub-cultures in Turkey. Young fashion designer Peker was given the İMA Special Award. 

At the 4th Young Entrepreneurs Club Meeting organized by the British Council moderated by Gamze Saraçoğlu, Gentlewoman Magazine editor Penny Martin from Britain talked about the new "video art” approach to fashion industry, combining digital arts and technology with creativity.  

Hosted by Istanbul Moda Academy, the chat with Martin centered around the role of social media in the globalization of fashion brands, concluding with a Q&A session on fashion and magazine publishing.
