Istanbul Moda Academy is housed in the renovated Sadrazam Sait Paşa Konağı, now furnished with cutting-edge technologies, in Nişantaşı, the heart of Turkish fashion. Once belonging to Sait Paşa, a grand vizier of Abdülhamid the II, this mansion has been used for various purposes in the past: Nişantaşı Girls' Vocational Institute in 1941; Rüştü Uzel Girls' Vocational High School, 1966; and İTÜ State Conservatory, 1982. The building was restored after the big fire of 1988. With a history full of art and education, Sadrazam Sait Paşa Konağı is now the home of Istanbul Moda Academy and has become one of the major cultural stops in the city.
Conceptually designed and restored as a fashion centre, our new home has the following facilities.
- CAM, PC and MAC, Design, Pattern and Sewing Studio. İMA conducts training courses in classrooms designed according to the content of the specific program. All classrooms are equipped with projection, a plasma TV and SMART education technology.
- Fashion Library. Located on the ground floor, the library is the first and also the largest fashion library in Turkey, offering a wide range of local and international books, magazines, and publications.
- Classrooms. The capacity of the classrooms varies between 10 to 50 students, and all classrooms are equipped with new furniture and modern decor. All classrooms are also equipped with projection, plasma TV and SMART education technology.
- Conference Room. The conference room has a 150-seat capacity and a flexible layout, which enables the room to host activities other than conferences. Simultaneous interpretation services are available for international meetings.
- Media Photography Studio. With comprehensive equipment and infrastructure, İMA also conducts applied photography classes.
- Exhibition Hall. With a total area of 145 square meters in a bright location, the exhibition hall hosts inspiring cultural events in the heart of the city. Seated capacityof 150.
